Tony Tang is an inspirational professional with over 35 years of experience in the resources sector, including nearly three decades dedicated to mineral processing and chemicals refining. His expertise covers all aspects from conceptual development to detailed engineering design, construction, commissioning, and production operations.

As a Fellow and Chartered Professional member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Tony truly embodies a commitment to excellence. He is passionate about finding innovative and sustainable solutions to the challenges surrounding critical minerals and energy. He believes in the power of collaboration between industry and academia to enhance knowledge sharing and drive progress.

As Professor of Practice and Technical Application Research Leader, Tony has also spearheaded multiple major Cooperative Research Centre projects, with recent significant successes, including a flagship AUD 15 million C4P project for the Future Battery Industries Cooperative Research Centre, which focuses on optimising the production of lithium battery components.

As Chair of the AusIMM Perth Branch, he tirelessly promotes professional growth and excellence across Western Australia’s minerals sector, inspiring countless individuals with his vision for a brighter, collaborative future!
